The Tatra T77 was a groundbreaking automobile and the first true luxury car with a streamlined design developed through wind tunnel testing. Its engineering was decades ahead of its time. The car was powered by a rear-mounted V8 engine paired with a four-speed gearbox. It featured independent suspension and an innovative all-steel monocoque structure with a lightweight, aerodynamic body. In total, only 255 units of the T77 and T77A, were built, making them extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors today.

This T77 was sold in 1935 to an industrialist in Czechoslovakia. Later in 1938 was modernized to T77A spec. (equipped with bigger 3.4 litre engine). During the communist era, the car was hidden and in the 90’ rediscovered near Bratislava. In 1995 was sold to a collector from Vienna and then in 2000 to Hampton Wyatt from USA. In 2009 the automobile was acquired by a collector from Prague, who undertook a restoration that spanned ten years.

Today, this Tatra is one of only 25 surviving examples of the T77 and is considered one of the two finest in existence.
