The 1975 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino is a sports car that represents a key milestone in the history of the Ferrari brand. It was designed as the first Ferrari with a hatchback body and the first Ferrari with an engine in the middle. This model became the basis for the future Ferrari 308 and 328, and although originally designated as the “Dino”, it is now considered a full-fledged Ferrari. The 308 GT4 Dino stands out from other Ferraris of the time with its bold and atypical design line. The body, designed by the famous designer Marcello Gandini, is sharp, geometric and modern. The 308 GT4 cars have a robust appearance with square headlights and pronounced side lines. With shapes that are more angular and upright than rounded, this model is significantly different from the classic Italian Ferrari design, giving it a unique and unmistakable character. The 308 GT4 is equipped with a 2.9 liter, V8 engine, which was the first of its kind in Ferrari history. This engine provides up to 240 horsepower and is connected to a five-speed manual transmission that ensures precise power transmission to the rear wheels. Thanks to this engine, the 308 GT4 is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 6.8 seconds, which was a great performance at the time. This engine also has an excellent sound performance, which is typical of Ferrari.
The offered car is in its original found condition and is sold as a project ready for renovation. According to the car’s documentation, the Dino has only had two owners since new, both of whom came from Italy, where the car was imported from. The engine is in unknown technical condition, the interior is very well preserved. A new windshield is also included in the sale, which only needs to be replaced.
